Here at Project Customs, we repair imperfections on vehicles on a daily basis. One of the most common are dents, big and small. As a car body repair shop, we always advise to our customers to get a vehicle dent repaired straight away, for a few different reasons. Here’s why its so important to repair car dents as soon as you possibly can.
Unfortunately, when your vehicle has been dented, it’s highly likely that the paint has been chipped, scratched, peeled or damaged in some way along with the dent itself. Over time, the damaged paint will begin to peel away and chip off even more around the original dent, causing the damaged area to increase in size and visibility – and it’s not a good look. The metal underneath will then become exposed, ruining the appearance of your vehicle, and more importantly, causing problems with the overall quality of your vehicle’s body!
The exposed metal will then begin to rust after the paint is chipped away. The longer you leave the dent, the more difficult and expensive it is to get sorted out, as the rust will then become an extra problem on top of what could’ve been just removing a small dent.
Our other reason to avoid putting off getting your car dent fixed is that you’ll be very thankful for it when it comes to re-selling your vehicle. Although you may not be planning on doing it any time soon, the dents are going to cause a major impact on the price you can get it sold for. Therefore, if you want to sell it for a decent price, then you ought to get it fixed as soon as possible, even if it’s going to be a long time before you plan on selling it. This is because if you leave it, the chips and damaged paint will get bigger, exposing more metal and rust. So, it will then be a lot more expensive to fix further down the line, which isn’t an additional price you want adding on top of finding your shiny new car.
